Happy Pets Holidays offers home boarding in our family home. We are based in Great Bookham Surrey surrounded by beautiful countryside but still just 10 mins from the M25
If you want a short break away, business trip, family holiday, day care or even have to go into hospital, why not let me look after your dog in my loving family home. Home boarding is a nicer, stress free way of boarding your dog compared to a kennel. I provide 24hr care with plenty of socialisation that ensures your dog is safe and happy.
I understand that leaving your dog in a strange place can be quite worrying for you and also for some dogs it can be a bit stressful. This is why I offer trial sessions and as many odd day care days as you want leading up to the time you go for your holiday so that it makes coming here more familiar to your dog and they can get to know my 2 labs and little terrier cross in my home and you can see that they are happy and settled before you go away relieving any worries you may have. Usually by the time their holiday comes the dogs can't wait to get in the door!
we also offer day care if you just want to go out for the day and don't want to leave your dog alone.
Happy Pets Holidays offer a personal service tailored to keeping to your dogs usual routine as much as possible. We usually only have one clients dog at a time and no more than two dogs making the group manageable and means all dogs can have maximum attention. If you prefer your dog to be the only boarder this can also be arranged if booked in advance.
Holly and Izzy
While you are away you will be sent regular texts or emails so that you know your dog is well and happy or if there are any problems. I will also take photos during their stay with us so you have pictures of their holiday too.
I have a secure garden and I always take the dogs for at least two long walks per day which is included in the price, all dogs are walked by myself and my daughter Selina and not taken out in a car.
We are lucky enough to be within walking distance of Polesden Lacey and Norbury Park so our walks can be varied and great fun for the dogs.
How it works
In the first instance I offer free 'Meet and greet' so that you can meet us and see where your dog will stay. If this seems that yours and my dogs are going to get along ok we can then book a trial session for a small fee of £10.
I always ask new dogs to come for a trial session as sometimes dogs just don't get on even if initially they seemed ok and I feel it's very important to assess how the dogs will interact with each other and if they are happy being away from you.
You are under no obligation to book your dog holiday with Happy Pets Holidays by booking a trial session.
Before your trial visit I ask you to complete a general questionnaire which helps me to get to know more about your dog for when/if they come to stay such as their likes and dislikes, any fears or special requests and it enables me to get to know your dog better and help them settle in.
If all goes well I can then book your doggie holiday but if your dog is very anxious and doesn't settle then i'm sorry but I won't accept the booking. The dogs come first and I would rather turn a client away than have an unhappy dog.
Your pet will receive the very best of care , they are part of your family and while they are with me they are treated as my family too.
I offer 10% discount to OAP's, people on a low income benefit (with proof), and also if you are going into hospital (with proof) when booking at least 7 days or more
Elderly dogs (12yrs +) that do not need to be walked and just want a quiet time will be charged a reduced rate. Please ask. Sorry but discounts and vouchers are not valid for day care or stays of less than 7 days.
Dogs we can't look after
Due to lack of space I do not take very large breeds, also I don't accept un-neutered males if they 'pester' females or batches while in season. Any male that is 'too frisky' with my girls will not be able to stay.
I will not take any dogs who appear to be aggressive. It is important to inform me if your dog has any food issues or any possessive tenancies so that these can be dealt with carefully.
I do not take puppies under 4 months old.
A couple of comments from my clients:
"We had our five month Labrador puppy in a local kennel (not great!) before moving him to Jane. The move to Jane was a move to a different, much more superior league of care, kindness and professionalism. Our puppy returned home calm, happy and - if he could speak - would be on the phone booking his next stay with Izzie, Holly and Jane now! Thank you Jane!" - Monica Kellagher
"It so lovely to find someone so committed to giving the same care as you would yourself and making your dog feel loved and at home. I would fully recommend Jane to look after your dog while you go away and the 'elderly' discount was much appreciated. Thank you my dear, we will come again"
"Well, what a weight off my mind it has been to know that Daisy has been having such fun with 'best pal' izzy and co! Thanks to Jane for another fab doggy holiday - cant fault it. Highly recommended. Thanks again x" Debbie Flint-QVC
My company is based on making sure your dogs and mine are well looked after, loved and happy. As a result, a high percentage of My business is from repeat customers and referrals. I welcome the opportunity to earn your trust and deliver you the best dog home boarding service"
“No matter how little money and how few possessions you own, having a dog makes you rich” (Louis Sabin)
